The magic cat: 6 – I love my family
A song video and related lesson resources that introduces vocabulary for family members, for beginner-level young learners.
Learn how to talk about your family, with Tom, Jess and Puzzleberry, the magic cat.
This lesson, which is based around the short song video available to watch or download below, focuses on vocabulary for family members, e.g. I have one sister. My sister is called Jess, and an awareness of related questions, e.g. How many people are in Jess’s family? How many people are in Tom’s family? Along with the video, below are all the materials necessary for a full 45–60 minute lesson: teacher’s notes, student worksheets and a PowerPoint presentation. We hope you enjoy them!
Note: If your device isn’t Flash compatible, then click on the link under ‘Related files’ at the bottom of the page to download the video. You can then play it through the media player on your device (e.g. iTunes).

Hi Raoufbouk,
Sorry to hear that you are having problems downloading the video. In Chrome, the download should begin automatically but you might need to check that this function is not blocked. Equally, you can right click on the link and copy the address to a new tab or a new window. The address you need is http://www.onestopenglish.com/17724.file
Hope this helps,

Hello Kinjal,
Thank you for your comment. I'm very sorry to hear you're having trouble downloading the videos. Unfortunately, our site is currently not completely tablet-compatible. To play it on an iPad, we suggest downloading it to iTunes on your computer and then playing it through that on your iPad.
To download it on your computer, right click on the video link at the bottom of the page, select 'Save with...', and save the file to your iTunes. Then when you open it on your iPad you should be able to play the video.
To use the files on a Mac you will need to use one of two browsers: either Chrome or Safari.
With Safari, right-click on the audio and select 'download linked file as...' then save the audio file to your desktop and it will play through iTunes.
With Chrome, you can left-click on the file and it will play directly.
If the audio/video isn’t appearing on the screen, click on the circled i on the top right side of the screen, by the address bar. A drop-down menu will appear. Click on ‘site setting’ choose ‘flash’ then click on ‘allow’. You will then be prompted to refresh the page and the video/audio should now appear. You may need to do this every time the page is opened.
If this advice does not help, please contact our customer services team at help@macmillaneducation.com who will be happy top assist you further.
Best wishes,
